CM, DGP questioned for allowing the ‘polarisation’ meeting

Hyderabad: President of Telangana Settlers’ Forum, K Srinivasa Raju asked the people of Rayalaseema and Andhra regions not to attend the meeting being organised by APNGOs on September 7, at LB Stadium. Addressing the media here on Friday, he warned that a conspiracy was being hatched by political leadership of Seemandhra region by encouraging the APNGOs to hold meeting and by the political leaders of Telangana region as well, who according to him, were planning to create disturbances, while they compete with each other in taking the credit for Telangana State formation.

He asked why Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP Dinesh Reddy allowed a polarising programme like the one being organised by APNGOs was being allowed to take place, when his own one-day deeksha for protection of security and rights of settlers on September 1 was turned down due to security reasons.

He opined that APNGOs could fight independently for their employment rights, instead of giving their agitation a political colour. He said that just like the leaders of TNGOs like Swamy Goud who had become an MLC, Ashok Babu, leader of APNGOs, was also playing with the sentiments of the people to further his own political interests. He said that those responsible for planning, sanctioning and carrying out the September 7 meeting would be held responsible for any disruption of peace in Hyderabad in the coming days.

He appealed to OUJAC and all the Telangana student organisations to show some restraint and maintain peace on September 7. Recalling the four years struggle they have been through fighting for the Telangana cause, he suggested them not to create a situation where the CWC decision on Telangana formation could be affected if they perpetrate violent acts opposing the APNGOs’ meeting. He said that the plan behind the APNGOs and the State government was to stall the process of Telangana formation.
