Hyderabad: As many as 15 private buses, which were ferrying APNGOs back to their respective destinations after the ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’ meeting, came under the attack of some unidentified persons at different places in the city and the outskirts. Two persons were taken into custody in connection with the incidents.
The buses were partially damaged as stones were hurled at them at Malakpet, Hayathnagar, Abdullapurmet and Laxmareddy Palem on the outskirts of the city. A driver sustained injuries in the attack. When contacted, L B Nagar DCP C Ravi Varma said, “Buses were attacked by some unidentified persons at Abdullapurmet and Laxmareddy Palem before crossing the city. Two motor-bike borne miscreants were taken into custody. The buses have been provided enough security.”
Following the attack, Cyberabad police provided the buses with escort. ACPs of Vanasthalipuram and Rajendranagar have been tasked to send the participants safely from the city’s outermost parts towards both Vijayawada and Kurnool.
