Hyderabad : Minister for Transport Botcha Satyanarayana’s talks with agitating unions of the APSRTC failed to cut ice. Due to the ongoing agitation, the Corporation has already suffered huge losses, compelling the Minister to convene regular meetings with the union leaders.
In Wednesday’s meeting, leaders from both regions sat with the Minister and offered to cancel agitations if the government agreed to take over the Corporation.
“We discussed about the job security of the employees, as RTC has been pushed to the brink due to the ongoing agitation,” said general secretary K Padmakar.
The Union leaders told the Minister the government should takeover RTC and convert it into a government department. This, they said, would provide them with job security. The minister agreed in principle but said that he would discuss the issue with the CM before reaching a conclusion.
