Hyderabad:Jnanpith awardee Ravuri Bharadwaja, 87, is undergoing treatment for heart and kidney failure at Care Hospital, Banjara Hills. As his condition worsened, he was admitted at the hospital on October 14. Medical Superintendent Dr A Gopikrishna said his condition turned serious and critical because of “multi organ failure.” “He is also suffering from intra abdominal sepsis. We put him in ICCU (Intensive Coronary Care Unit). He required Inotropic and ventilator support and continuous renal replacement therapy,” he added. Ravuri is a chronic diabetes and hypertension patient and has also been suffering from chronic kidney disease for some time. Dr Somaraju, Chairman of Care, and his team are closely monitoring his health, Dr Gopikrishna said.
