The 4-day Surabhi Drama Fest, which kicked off to a dazzling response, will conclude today. Surabhi, which is a 130-year-old traditional drama family from a village called Surabhi, is headed by Padmashree awardee R Nageswara Rao. At the inauguration of the festival, R Nageswara Rao, who is affectionately known as Surabhi Babji, was honoured with the Rotary International District 3150’s, an NPO, Vocational Excellence – Lifetime Achievement Award.
Speaker of the Telangana Assembly S Madhusudhana Chari was the chief guest at the event. Dr KV Ramana, advisor to the Telangana government; Thanikella Bharani, actor; B Sridhar, Ranga Reddy Collector; M Hari Krishna, director, department of culture and others were present at the inauguration as guests of honour.
