Gandhi Hospital sanitation staff consisting 250 members conducted a dharna on Friday at the hospital premises. They demanded the implementation of the GO No. 11 dated January, 2012, where wages would be hiked from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,214 per month. M Narasimha, president of the Telangana Medical Worker Union (TMWU), said, “Though the government hiked our wages three years ago, we are not receiving the revised amount.

Our representations and requests have been in vain.” The hospital superintendent held deliberations with workers’ unions on Friday and promised to hike the wages and pay all the arrears from May 2014 to all the sanitation staff and submitted a letter of undertaking.
