Hyderabad’s first French artist in residence
French artist Dominique Paulin will speak about her career and works at Alliance Francaise Auditorium on Friday. Dominique is the first French artist to be invited for one month residency by Kalakriti Art Gallery and the French Embassy in India. Born in a family of artists, Dominique Paulin worked as a painter in parallel with her medical career. It was not until 2008 that she presented her works to the public.

French artist Dominique Paulin will speak about her career and works at Alliance Francaise Auditorium on Friday. Dominique is the first French artist to be invited for one month residency by Kalakriti Art Gallery and the French Embassy in India. Born in a family of artists, Dominique Paulin worked as a painter in parallel with her medical career. It was not until 2008 that she presented her works to the public.
The self-taught artist soon developed her own style, always searching for new artistic approaches by mixing oil, pastel and ink on various materials (cosmetics, ash, walnut stain, etc) in a non-figurative style. The large formats of Paulin reveal an overlaying of colours, lending a transparency of richness to the canvas. Dominique will speak in French; it will be translated into English for the audience’s benefit. The talk is open to all and not ticketed.
