India is developing as a hub for diverse events aimed at people from all walks of life. The same has also lead to event management being one of the most preferable and profitable career option. No doubt that organising events will earn you good money; but will your start-up have a jump in the turnover from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 3.5 crore in just six months?

Well, this start-up managed to achieve this feat by providing ticketing services to event organisers. MeraEvents is a city-based start-up that was launched to cater the needs of both organisers and delegates within a single framework. The firm had started off by purely being a ticketing partner for different events which was followed by taking commission on the ticket.

“Over the years, we have emerged as event ticketing technology solution provider managing the ticket desk, and also becoming an end-to-end technology company,” Naidu Darapaneni, the founder of MeraEvents, was quoted as saying on yourstory.com.

Founded in 2009, the firm has recently announced their partnership with Percept Live Pvt. Ltd. Percept is a popular media and communication firm in India, organising some of the biggest events like Sunburn, Fly, WindSong, FightNight, and Champions of the world. Partnering with a firm of such a big scale, offering technology solutions, ticketing and ground management for upcoming events would surely be a turning point for the firm.

With the firm growing big, Naidu has got plans of expanding its team and offices. “We are planning to open offices in the US, London, Dubai and Singapore this year. We also want to enhance our headcount from the current 60 to 100 before the end of the current financial year. In terms of funding, we raised a million dollars last June. We are aiming to raise $10 million more,” Naidu added.
