An online guide for international spectators

If you’re planning to fly to Australia for the matches and need information on what can be done there and where to eat, etc, then this website is just for you. The South Australian Tourism Commission has developed a new microsite for the world cup which can be accessed through southaustralia.com. The Adelaide Oval is hosting three pool matches and a quarter final – with the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan on February 15.

Rodney Harrex, chief executive, Tourism Commission, said, “The microsite will be a one-stop-shop for information, especially for international visitors and will complement the broader southaustralia.com website. We know that a significant proportion of them will be seeking information on their mobiles on things to do, where to eat, etc, and we want to make it easy for them to access this information.”

“We want visitors to take the opportunity to experience everything our state has to offer including our beautiful regions, great landscapes, and our premium food and wine. Adelaide offers free WiFi so people will be able to access information on the go on their mobile devices.

Everything from match times, FanZone activities and event road closure details to information about places of worship, transport options, and vegetarian and halal restaurants is included on the microsite,” he said. The microsite also features three films developed for Indian visitors.
