Ranga Reddy district collector M Raghunandan Rao has asked Tehsildars to take over polling booths well in advance and make necessary arrangements for Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad graduates constituency MLC election scheduled to be held on March 22. Interacting with Tehasildars through video conference from court hall of the collectorate, Raghunandan wants the MROs to take the responsibility of maintenance of polling stations.

Stating that an officer should be appointed as in-charge of polling station, he said that zonal officers should visit the booths and make necessary arrangements including furniture and others. There should be uninterrupted power supply and arrangements for webcasting of the polling process.

The collector also asked the Tehsildars to make arrangements for presiding and assistant presiding officers to transport polling material on March 21. “Officers should make alternative arrangements if any polling staff was absent from duties,” he said.
