The 35th anniversary celebrations of ‘Maa Bhoomi’, a film on Telangana Peasants Arms Rebellion, were held at Lamakaan, Banjara Hills, on Sunday evening. Filmmakers G Ravindranath and B Narsing Rao spoke on how the film was made and the various struggles they had to endure during the period.

They announced that the film was restored with a cost of Rs 25 lakh. “We will be releasing a BluRay disc of the film in another week or two.

The film will also be made available online on YouTube,” said Narsing Rao.A nostalgic affair, the members of the cast and crew were present at the event and recounted tales of the film’s making. Singer Sandhya crooned her hit song “Palletoori Pillagada”. Actors Sai Chand and Bhoopal Reddy and the producers of the film presented mementos to members of the film unit. It was followed by the screening of film.
