Khammam: The CPI members, led by their leader Nune Shashidhar, alleged that the officials of Electricity department were behaving negligently in solving the low voltage issue reported in several divisions here in Khammam city.They took out a protest rally from Bose Statue centre to Guttala Bazaar and gave a representation to Assistant Engineer of Transco in Khammam on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Shashidhar alleged that people have been facing the low voltage problems since one month. Many electrical devices such as fans, coolers, refrigerators, motors, bulbs and AC’s were damaged due to supply of low voltage in Sundaraiahnagar and in 41 and 42 divisions.

With officials not responding in time, each family in the said divisions incurred losses between Rs10,000 and Rs.50,000, he criticised, demanding the officials to solve the problem immediately to prevent further damage. He warned of protest if officials failed to address the issue soon.

Meanwhile, the AE assured the agitating leaders of early redressal. Nagesh, Sai, Jhony, Nandu, Janardhan and the city general secretary of AIYF Bhukya Ravinder were part of the delegation that met the AE.
