kada2 Kadapa: Justice Nagarjuna Reddy, Judge of AP High Court, said that the judiciary should take measures to ensure justice to the victims who approach the courts with their grievances. Inaugurating a library building for the lawyers near the district court premises here on Saturday, Nagarjuna Reddy lamented that there has been a steep decline in human and ethical values in the society in recent times. He said that it was necessary to make people aware of the laws of the land and help in the promotion of ethical values. This way, confidence could be built among the people in the judicial system, he said. The High Court Judge said that judiciary should act in a more responsible manner. He bemoaned the fact that some of the law colleges were turned into degree manufacturing units without educating them about the legal system in the country. He said that there had been deterioration in the standards of the legal fraternity and legal education. Justice Nagarjuna Reddy said that in the year 1995-96, he played a role in the demand for setting up a law college in Visakhapatnam, but excepting in the Andhra University Law College, there were no good teachers of law in other colleges. He said that speedy justice would be ensured through the Lok Adalat. Justice Nagarjuna Reddy said that there was a need to encourage Alternate Dispute Resolution as cases were piling up in large numbers. The Judge donated 270 law books to the newly established library near the court building. Earlier, the High Court Judge was given a rousing welcome by the District Judge Ghouse Bhasha, First Additional Magistrate Krishna Prasad Reddy, Fifth Additional Magistrate V C Gunnayya, Third District Magistrate Vijay Chandra Rana, Fourth Additional Magistrate Ananda Rao, Kadapa Bar Association President Sampath Kumar and other advocates.
