Proddutur(Kadapa):In protest against the division of the State, doctors in Kanakapuri in the town took out a huge rally under the aegis of Indian Medical Association on Tuesday. Even doctors of private nursing homes joined the rally. The rally passed through the district government hospital, Gandhi Road, Vijay Kumar Circle, TB Road, Rajiv Circle, Shivalayam Street and culminated at the Puttaparthi circle. APNGO leader Anjana Devi participated in a stick fight.
The teachers of the Jeevanajyothy School participated in a relay hunger strike at the Puttaparthi junction and the employees of the APSRTC sat on a hunger strike at the Mitta Papaiah Choultry. In Rajampet, teachers of government and private colleges took out a huge rally under the aegis of the Rajampet Employees Joint Action Committee. They raised slogans in favour of Samaikyandhra and against TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao at the YSR Junction.
Classes were held at the bus stop junction in which more than 2000 students participated. In Jammalamadugu, former Minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Rama Subba Reddy said that all the political parties should strive to keep the State united. He visited the relay hunger strike camps in which government degree college lecturers were taking part on Tuesday and expressed solidarity with them.
YSR Congress Party leader D Narayana Reddy also extended his support to the members participating in the relay hunger strike. He said that they had already chalked out a plan to spread the Samaikyandhra movement in the interiors of villages. He made it clear that the agitation would continue till the State was kept united.
