Nalgonda: District BJP president Nukala Narsimha Reddy lashed out at the State government for making a baseless promise of giving 12 percent reservations to Muslims and stated that the step was against the spirit of Indian Constitution.
On Sunday, he launched BJP’s signature campaign against religious reservations at the Clocktower centre in the town.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was betraying the Muslims by making the false promise of providing 12 percent religious reservation which was not viable as per the Indian Constitution.
He questioned State government as to how they would pass the Bill when the issue was still pending in court.
He advised the Chief Minister to provide reservations to the economically backward people, irrespective of caste and religion.
Senior BJP leaders Ramoju Shanmukha, Goli Madhusudhan Reddy, Veerelly Chandrashekar, Shyam sundar, Bandaru Prasad and others were present.
