The Suryapet police on Thursday arrested three persons who allegedly cheated the family of one Kasturi Ashok, which led to suicide of all his six family members.

Suryapet: The Suryapet police on Thursday arrested three persons who allegedly cheated the family of one Kasturi Ashok, which led to suicide of all his six family members.

The arrested were identified as Vempati Satyanarayana, resident of Balajinagar, B Upender of Jammigadda and Satish of Suryapet town.

According to Suryapet DSP Nageshwar Rao, Satyanarayana and Upender had collected Rs 14 lakh assuring Ashok of Junior Assistant post in the judiciary department. Upender promised Ashok’s family that he would return the money if he failed to provide the job by September 20, 2017.

However, Upender and others duped the Ashok’s family. All the family members of Ashok committed suicide by consuming pesticide on September 18.

It came to be known that the accused Upender was earlier sent to jail for duping people assuring them of freedom fighter pensions. He, however, managed to get a bail.

DSP informed that police teams arrested Satyanarayana and Upender on Thursday morning at Old Bus stand in the town.

A case was also filed on the internet owner, Satish, who prepared the fake appointment letter and identity card. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Suresh, remaining family member of Ashok, are yet to be known. Police constituted teams to search him.
