Khammam: State secretary of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) Potu Prasad alleged that the Centre was trying to suppress the rights of several working unions across the country.

After releasing a poster of ‘Chalo Parliament’ here at Giri Prasad Bhavan in Khammam on Tuesday, Prasad informed that the Chalo Parliament programme will be organised on November 9, 10 and 11 in New Delhi in protest against the Centre privatising the government sector organisations and thereby suppressing the rights of several working unions.

“In the name of reforms, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is encouraging corporate companies by adopting several policies which are against to the interest of working sections,” he criticised, adding that working class was the most-affected lot with the roll out of demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax.

Demanding the government to extend support to working sections by withdrawing its decision, he urged the workers to participate in the Chalo Parliament programme and make it a grand success.

AITUC district secretary B G Climont, Shingu Narasimha Rao, Mekala Srinivasa Rao and Gade Lakshminarayana, among others, were present.
