Casteism in the garb of Vana Bhojanalu opposed

Khammam: The representatives of ‘SPARSHA-Samajika Adhyana Vedika’ here on Thursday alleged that some of the political leaders belonging to upper castes were trying to transform the age-old tradition Vana Bhojanalu (garden lunches) into Kula (Caste) Bhojanalu to show their dominance and casteism. The representatives of SPARSHA and various peoples’ organisations attended a meeting held here in Khammam on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, a representative of SPARSHA K Bhaskar Rao said by dividing people in the name of castes, some of the political leaders especially MPs and MLAs from upper castes were trying to convert the Vana Bhojanalu into Kula Bhojanalu by inviting the people belonging to their castes and were insulting others by going against Indian Constitution. “Instead of trying to abolish the casteism and inequality, the leaders are trying to prove that their caste belongs to upper class and dominant compared to others,” he alleged.
To fulfill the aspirations of Dr BR Ambedkar and Jyotiba Phule and spread the message of equality, a massive ‘Sakala Kula Sahapaknti Janabojanam’ programme would be organised in front of Collectorate at Dharna Chowk on November 4, he informed.
Rao further urged people of all sections and castes and representatives of various peoples’ organisations to attend the programme in large numbers to make it a grand success.
SPARSHA representatives B Sandeep, Y Vinay Kumar, Dr BV Raghavulu and Perla Madhu were present along with others.
