Khammam: A special awareness programme will be organised from November 9 to 18, under District Legal Cell Authority, to help people make use of legal services, informed District Chief Judge M Lakshman here on Tuesday. The Judge released a special poster and stickers designed for the programme, in Khammam on Tuesday. Speaking at a press meet held at District Court, the Judge said the awareness programme will help people know about the legal services provided for free along with those services which they can get immediately.

“Several programmes are taken up for creating awareness among the people about the Acts and legal services by conducting rallies, seminars, posters, pamphlets and stickers,” he said. Urging the media to provide wide publicity to the programmes, Lakshman said for availing free legal services, people could approach the president of Mandal Legal Cell Authority at mandal-level, president of District Legal Cell Authority at district-level and the president of State Legal Cell Authority at State-level.

He further added that para-legal volunteers were appointed for providing immediate legal services. Special teams formed with judge and para-legal volunteers will visit every household to create awareness about legal services. Secretary of the District Legal Cell Authority K Vinod Kumar and other advocates attended the press meet.
