Two kids drown while plucking lotus flowers

In a tragic incident, two children drowned in a pond while trying to pluck lotus flowers. The incident took place on Tuesday at Velashala village of Tirumalagiri mandal in the district. According to sources, Hussain Bi (11) and Hasan (9), cousins, went to bring the lotus flowers from the local pond located on the outskirts of the village.

While picking the flowers, the duo drowned. Upon information, the parents of the kids along with villagers rushed to the spot and fished out the dead bodies. With the death of two children from the same family, a pall of gloom descended on the village.
