Nalgonda: District police arrested a habitual offender Bandi Ganesh alias Balamoina Ganesh (23), native of Lingala Ghanapuram mandal of Warangal district, in Nalgonda on Tuesday. Producing the offender before the media at the DPO office, Superintendent of Police Srinivas Rao informed the crime history and also modus operandi of the arrested.

The SP informed that Narketpally Sub-inspector Govardhan along with CCS police organised patrolling in Narketpally. The cops caught hold of the accused when he tried to escape from police at the Narketpally bus stand. During interrogation, the police came to know that he was a native of Warangal district and was leaving for Hyderabad to sell the stolen mobiles. He further confessed to various crimes including stealing of mobile phones from a shop in Narketpally on October 24 night and from mobile phone shops in Khammam and Warangal districts. Police recovered 20 mobile phones from him.

The SP further informed that Ganesh after completing Class X was addicted to smoking and alcohol. Soon, he started stealing autos, bikes besides burglaries to lead the lavish life. He committed lot of property offences earlier and also went several times to jail and was lodged at jails in Warangal, Jangaon, Khammam, Bhongir, Nalgonda and Huzurnagar. He was released from the Huzurnagar jail recently and was residing at Kodad town by driving an auto-rickshaw. However, he again decided to commit property offence to meet his luxuries, the SP added.

Meanwhile, the police also produced Ravula Laxamaiah, Janapati Yadaiah, Nimmala Venkatiah, Singam Edukondalu, Male Nagi Reddy and Bhonagiri Chandraiah before the media in connection with the murder of Ravula Venkateshwarlu alias Kondal of Chepur village of Gurrampodu mandal in the district on October 27. The SP appreciated the Gurrampodu SI Kranthi Kumar for arresting the culprits in short time.
