Nalgonda: One of the farmers, who were cheated at the hands of a realtor, climbed a tower near Nalgonda Collecorate on Monday, demanding justice. According to the victim farmers, Eswar Reddy of Laxmanpuram of Nampally mandal, presently residing in Hyderabad, approached the oustees of Cherlagudem reservoir, who got compensation money for giving up their lands for the project.

He suggested them to buy plots on the outskirts of Hyderabad city to become rich within a short period and lured 20 farmers, who paid Rs one crore to book plots. Eswar Reddy gave signed blank cheques to them. When Eshwar failed to show them the plots after several days, the farmers tried to contact him over phone last week, but his phone was switched off.

The victims contacted Eshwar Reddy’s wife Shashikala at her house in Hyderabad about the lands but in vain. They contacted District Collector Gaurav Uppal during Grievance Day at the district collectorate and submitted their redressal to him and urged justice.

Meanwhile, Lingaiah, one of the victims, climbed a cell tower, demanding stern action against Eshwar Reddy and justice to them. He came down after the Collector Gaurav Uppal gave assurance. The Collector directed Joint-Collector Narayana Reddy to look into the matter.
