Nagarkurnool: The dairy farmers took out a rally from Milk Chilling Center to Revenue Development Office (RDO) in Kalwakurthy mandal of Nagarkurnool district on Monday. Later they staged a dharna at the office.
The rally was supported by Congress party where Kalwakurthy MLA Vamshi Chand Reddy lead the protest and demand the government to pay Rs 4 per litre as extra bonus to all dairy farmers as an encouragement to the dairy sector in the State.
Though the government had announced paying Rs 4 per litre to farmers procuring milk to Vijaya dairy it has not yet been implemented. In view of this the members of milk producer’s cooperative council demanded the government to pay Rs 4 extra per litre adding to their bills immediately.
Along with the MLA, Bandela Rama Chandra Reddy, President of Milk Producer’s Association along with other members took part in the rally.
