The students of Vivekananda Residential School were selected for the second round of 20th annual International Space Settlement Design competition, sponsored by NASA, after qualifying in the Asian Qualifying Round held for students of class 8 to 12.

Karimnagar: The students of Vivekananda Residential School were selected for the second round of 20th annual International Space Settlement Design competition, sponsored by NASA, after qualifying in the Asian Qualifying Round held for students of class 8 to 12.

The student teams are expected to design and build a community and spaceport in Lunar orbit where passengers and cargo will transfer between inter orbital ships and lunar landing vehicles. Each year the competition organisers develop a new design concept with its own special requirements.

This is the first year that Indian National Space Competition which will serve as the quarter finals for the International Space Settlement Design Competition. 44 teams from all over India participated in INSSDC, out of which 25 teams were selected. Among them two teams were from Telangana, in which one is Vivekananda Residential School, Karimnagar.

The team consist of Musheeth Ahmed, Ananya Reddy, Shafiya Samreen, Sharia Parveen, Alina Ratnani, Najwa Kulsum, Muzzammil Ahmed, B Sree Nandini, Satwik, Sahil Motwani and Safwan Mohammed. The project is guided by Riya Motwani and K Sudhakar.
The School Chairman Dr Sudhkar Rao Polsani appreciated the students for their achievement.
