TSA to name 62 Thoranams after Telugu poets

The Telangana Sahithya Academy (TSA) will erect 62 Thoranams (gateways) in the name of prominent Telugu poets and those who made outstanding contributions and enriched the Telugu language and literature during the World Telugu Congress (WTC) scheduled to start from December 15 in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Sahithya Academy (TSA) will erect 62 Thoranams (gateways) in the name of prominent Telugu poets and those who made outstanding contributions and enriched the Telugu language and literature during the World Telugu Congress (WTC) scheduled to start from December 15 in Hyderabad.

In a press release here on Tuesday, the TSA said that the names of different gateways are named after Hala Chakravarthi, Pampa Mahakavi, Mallaiah Rechana, Vidhyanadha, Prathaparudhra, Palkurki Somana, Bammera Pothana, Gona Bhuddha Reddy, Poetess Kuppamambika, Gowrana, Marana, Mamidi Singanna, Koravi Goparaju, Kamineni Malla Reddy, Simhagiri Krishnamacharyulu, Sarvagnya Singha Bhupala, Charigonda Dharmanna, Yekamranadha, Marnganti Singaracharyulu, Addanki Gangadhara Kavi, Ponnaganti Telaganayudu, Sarangu Tammaiah, Surabhi Madhava Rayalu, Yalkuchi Balasaraswathi, Bhaktakavi Ramadasu, Sheshappa Kavi, Varakavi Siddhappa, Rakamacharla Venkata Dasu, Gaddam Ramadasu, Suravaram Pratapa Reddy, Vattikota Alwar Swamy, Ravichettu Ranga Rao, Prajakavi Kaloji Narayana Rao, Oddiraju Sodarulu, Bandaru Achamamba, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, P V Narasimha Rao, Dasarathi Krishnamacharya, Nelluri Keshavaswami, Bhagya Reddy Varma, Dasarathi Rangacharya, Mahakavi Dr C Narayana Reddy, D Birudraju Ramaraju, Pakaala Yeshoda Reddy, Kavitrya Thoranam (Nannayya, Thikkana, Yerra Pragada), Srinadha Mahakavi, Allasani Peddana, Prajakavi Vemana, Tirupathi Venkata Kavulu, Tallapaka Annamacharya, Mahakavi Gurajada Appa Rao, Mahakavi Sri Sri, Navayuga Kavi Chakravarthi Gurram Jashuva, Gangula Saireddy, Palla Durgaiah, Vanamamalai Varadacharyulu, Arige Ramaswamy, Didavemulapalli Devender, Alisetti Prabhakar, Malkibharama and Guda Anjaiah.
