Plans afoot to establish cancer care centre in Suryapet
District Collector Surendra Mohan stated that plans are afoot to establish cancer care center in the district. He discussed the proposals for setting up of a cancer hospital with CIPS Additional Director P Achalender Reddy, Secunderabad Rotary Club president JM Reddy, Suren K Poruri, MNJ cancer specialist Dr Krishna at the Collectorate here on Monday.

The Collector informed the team members that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, during his recent tour to Suryapet district, had sanctioned medical college to the newly formed Suryapet district. Institutional deliveries in the government hospital were increased from 15 per cent to 65 per cent, due to the tireless efforts of the staff of medical and health department, he stated.
