Khammam’s Chintakani mandal gets ODF tag
With the completion of construction works of about 2,850 Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISL’s), Mandal Parishad President (MPP) of Chintakani mandal Samrajyam had declared the mandal as Open Defecation-Free (ODF), here on Wednesday.
Khammam: With the completion of construction works of about 2,850 Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISL’s), Mandal Parishad President (MPP) of Chintakani mandal Samrajyam had declared the mandal as Open Defecation-Free (ODF), here on Wednesday.
A Gram Sabha was held here at Komatlagudem village of Chintakani mandal in Khammam on Wednesday. Addressing the villagers, Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) Nawab Pasha said Chintakani was the first mandal to be declared ODF in the district. It was possible only with the collective efforts of officials, local public representatives and villagers.
“For the last two months, public representatives along with villagers have strived for the completion of construction of 2,850 ISLs in all the villages present in the mandal for getting the ODF tag,” he added. Tahsildar Srinivas, ZPTC Sirisha and Sarpanches of surrounding villages attended the Gram Sabha meeting along with others.
