Khammam: After the formation of separate State, various types of welfare schemes were implemented, and developmental activities were taken up by the State government for the betterment of people, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.

The Minister during his visit to Khammam laid foundation stones for various developmental projects in villages besides inaugurating about 60 double bedroom houses constructed, that were constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore, at Venkatapuram village of Vemsoor mandal in Khammam on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the R&B Minister said after the formation of Telangana, many developmental works such as projects for irrigation and drinking water needs, laying of roads, uninterrupted power supply etc., were taken up by the government for the betterment of people.

“The Chief Minister’s pet project double bedroom housing scheme was introduced prestigiously in about 31 districts present across the State and in all the districts, the construction works of many houses are under progress. But in Khammam and Kothagudem districts, the construction works of 2bhk houses at many places are completed and were also sanctioned to beneficiaries,” said Tummala.

“By requesting the Chief Minister KCR, we are able to get extra 10,000 double bedroom houses for the united Khammam district. The double bedroom houses in the Venkatapuram village will be allotted to homeless poor by preparing a special list irrespective of caste,” assured the R&B Minister.

Stating that through Mission Bhagiratha pure drinking water would be supplied to every household, Tummala informed that after completion of Sitarama Project, water from Godavari river will be supplied to Sattupalli region. Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Kavitha, SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, Central Co-operation Bank Director Bala Narsareddy, ATMA Chairman Katta Ajay, ATMA Director Ramesh and Sattupalli MPP, ZPTC were present along with others.
