Compared to the last year, this year the government has increased Rs 500 on a quintal of produce.
So far, the district farmers have cultivated the crop in about 2,792 acres and harvested about 8,400 quintals. Thanking the government for their kind gesture, the growers expressed their happiness over the government’s decision.
Speaking to The Hans India, Payam Mutthaiah, a farmer, said that he cultivated the red gram as secondary crop and was happy with the yield. Another farmer T Narasimha Rao stated that the government was giving good support price for the produce and asked the government to encourage the farmers to take up red gram cultivation as primary crop.
