Khammam: The Bahujan Left Front (BLF), a consortium of various organisations, could change the political landscape of the State, CPI (M) State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram predicted. Speaking at the party’s district committee meeting here on Wednesday, Tammineni said the recently-launched BLF had the potential to bring in a change in State politics.

“Already, the formation of BLF, which is a coalition of various political and social groups, has become a catchword in the 98 per cent population of the State consisting of SC, ST, BC and Minorities,” the CPI (M) State secretary said, claiming credit for the new outfit for creating ripples in the ruling party.

Tammineni said in times to come there was a possibility of more likeminded parties and organisations joining the BLF and it could change the face of State politics. He said that in a couple of months, constitution of party’s district, mandal and village level committees would be completed.

Referring to the recent hikes in petrol and diesel prices, he said it had created a lot of adversity against the Central government. Especially the middleclass people were unhappy with the Centre, he added. “There is a spurt in attacks against minorities, SCs and STs since the BJP-led government came to power,” Tammineni alleged.

CPI (M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao, State Secretariat member Pothineni Sudarshan Rao, district secretariat member Ponnam Venkateswar Rao, senior leaders Yerra Srikanth, Buggaveeti Sarala, Kalyanam Venkateswar Rao, Bathula Lenin, Bandi Ramesh and Bukya Veerabhadram were among others present.
