Khammam: The Communist Party of India (CPI). Khammam district unit, here on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Karl Marx on the occasion of his death anniversary. The party organised 2-K run at Pavilion grounds here.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI State Committee member Ponnam Venkateshwarlu said the All India 22nd conference of the party would be held in Hyderabad from April 8 to 22. As part of mobilising support, the party has embarked on vigorous campaign in all districts.
During the conference, certain key decision would be taken against the Central and State governments, which have adopted anti-people’s policies. The farming sector across country was driven into crisis, and no proper steps were taken for its development by both the State and Central governments, he alleged.
Many farmers across the country are facing lot of hardships for not getting minimum support price for the produce. Unable to pay the debts, the farmers are taking extreme step of committing suicide, he observed.
In Maharashtra the ‘Long March-Jaitra Yatra’ taken by farmers had proved a huge success. The TRS State government must take the long march of farmers in Maharashtra as a warning, he pointed. He urged the people to participate in the large numbers in the All India Conference and make it a huge success.
