The Mission Bhageeratha water treatment plant (WTP) trail run was officially launched by C Laxma Reddy, Health Minister at Pandiri Gutta in Jadcherla on Wednesday. The capacity of newly constructed WTP is 77 MLD and it will cater for 31 villages under Jadcherla constituency. 

Mahbubnagar: The Mission Bhageeratha water treatment plant (WTP) trail run was officially launched by C Laxma Reddy, Health Minister at Pandiri Gutta in Jadcherla on Wednesday. The capacity of newly constructed WTP is 77 MLD and it will cater for 31 villages under Jadcherla constituency.

While launching the trial run of the WTP, the Health Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had launched the the Mission Bhageeratha to provide drinking water to each and every household in the State. As much as Rs 26,000 crore was spent for the construction of this gigantic project on a war- footing in just three years.

“As targeted we have completed 95 per cent of Mission Bhageeratha works in Mahbubnagar district. If all pending works are completed very soon we will provide safe and pure drinking water through taps by end of June this year,”said the minister.

As majority works are completed and the final phase works are going on the district administration is gearing up to provide drinking water through mission bhageeratha scheme to all the 483 grama panchayats in the district.
