Suryapet: Health Minister C LaxmaReddy here on Monday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been giving top priority to health sector. The government is determined to ensure that every citizen in the State gets best healthcare.

Laxma Reddy along with Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy and MPs Gutha Sukender Reddy and Badugula Lingaiaih Yadavdeclared open dialysis centres at the Government Area Hospital in Suryapet and the Government Hospital in Huzurnagar.

The dialysis centres were established at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore each. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said earlier the government hospitals were devoid of facilities. After the formation of the State, the government had given top priority to the health sector.

Now the facilities in the government hospital are on a par with those in corporate hospitals, he said. As many as 25 dialysis centres in government hospitals were opened so far and 45 more dialysis centres are getting ready for inauguration.

Stating that the doctors and staff in government hospitals areputting in more hours of work, he said the government is planning to recruit 2,400 doctors to overcome the staff crunch. He said the poor are expressing their happiness over the establishment of dialysis centres in the Government Hospitals.

He said the government is planning to conduct eye tests to all and also provide spectacles.During his tour he inspected the land for proposed medical college in Suryapet town.
