Mahbubnagar: Aimed at providing an annual input subsidy of Rs 8,000 per acre to each farmer in the State, the State government has decided to launch the ‘Rytu Bhandu’ scheme from April 20 in Mahbubnagar district.

Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA) Nirmala said cheques would be given to the farmers at Grama Sabhas in the villages. Cheques would be given only to those farmers, who produce Aadhaar cards and land Pattadar Passbooks issued by the Revenue Department.

The farmers, who are yet to receive their new Passbooks, should secure signature of Tahsildar in case of mandals and the District Collector in case district headquarters on the first page of the old Pattadar Passbook and produce it at the Grama Sabha.

“As per the State government’s directive, it is mandatory for each and every farmer to produce Aadhaar card and new Pattadar Passbook to secure input subsidy under the Rytu Bandhu scheme. It is also important to note that each farmer should be present in person to get the cheque, she said.

The district officials are also making arrangements to deliver cheques at the doorsteps of those farmers, who are handicapped or those who are unable to attend the Gram Sabhas due to illness.

The farmers would be given Rs 4,000 input subsidy for kharif season first. All preparations were made to distribute cheques to farmers, she said.Before distribution of the cheques, as per government’s orders, the District Collector will hold a meeting with the District Agriculture, Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs).
