Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Tuesday directed the officials to take all necessary steps to ensure that distribution of cheques under Rythu Bandhu scheme is conducted without a hitch.

The Collector, while holding a meeting with the officials, said as many as 137 teams would be formed for implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme, scheduled to be inaugurated on May 10 in the district.

Cheques worth Rs 260.51 crore will be distributed to 2,70,067 farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme in the district and 49,224 Pattadar Passbooks will also be handed over to the farmers, said the Collector.

The programme of distribution of cheques and Pattadar Passbooks should be organised as per the suggestions to be given local public representatives, advised the Collector.

He directed the officials of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department to take part in the programme. A control room will be established in the Collectorate to monitor the progress of the distribution of cheques, Lokesh Kumar said.

District Agriculture Officer Jhansi Lakshmi Kumari, Kallur Revenue Divisional Officer Naga Lakshmi, Additional Directors of Agriculture Department, Madal Agriculture Officers, Tahsildars and Collectorate Administrative Officer Madan Gopal were present.
