​Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal here on Friday said the district has been given a target of planting 2.11 crore saplings during the forthcoming Haritha Haram in the rainy seasons.

The Collector was holding a meeting here with officials of Revenue, DRDA, Forest and Horticulture to review the programme.

Uppal reviewed the number of saplings available in the nurseries across the district and directed the officials to make necessary arrangements to make the programme a success. He urged officials to upload the details of required saplings and comprehensive plan department-wise online.

He also reviewed the steps taken to protect the saplings planted under previous Haritha Haram programmes and advised officials to ensure that the plants were watered properly.

District Revenue Office Kheemya Naik, DRDA Project Director Anjaiah, DFO Shantharam, Horticulture official Sangeetha Rani and others participated in the programme.
