AIRTWF-JAC members by displaying black flags on their vehicles have been staging protest for the last seven days in support of their demand. The AIRTWF-JAC organised a sit-in programme in front of the District Transport Office on Friday also.

Speaking on the occasion, Sathyanarayana accused both State and Central governments of adopting anti-worker policies. The State government, he alleged, was trying to denationalise transport sector. Price of petrol and diesel were increasing every day.

He demanded that the government establishing a welfare board on the lines of the one in Tripura, Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. He demanded Rs 10 lakh ex gratia for the families of those who die in accidents.

AIRTWF District General Secretary Purnachandar Rao, Vice- President Upendar, CITU leader T Vishnu, TRSKV Krishna, AITUC leader R Srinivas, INTUC leader Nabi, Venkanna, Sattar, Ramu and others participated in the protest.
