babuKaikaluru (Krishna): Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu had promised to provide safe drinking water for the villagers of Kolleru Lake area. Speaking to the people as part of his Vastunna Meekosam yatra as he left for West Godavari district, Chandrababu Naidu took a dig at the Congress government for neglecting the habitations in the lake area. He criticized the Congress for destroying fish tanks in the lake area and disturbing the lives of the fishermen families. He said he would restore the lands to the fishermen families and protect their lives. Chandrababu Naidu said that he would give priority to the rehabilitation of fishermen in Kolleru area and asked the people to support him. He wanted the people to defeat the Congress in the next elections and help the Telugu Desam to come back to power. He said he was on yatra only to understand the problems of the people and give them moral support. The TD chief said that the yatra had helped him understand the difficulties that the people were facing due to the corrupt Congress in the State and at the Centre. He said he wanted to be with the people during their hard time and had decided to continue the yatra.
Politburo meet
Earlier in the day, Chandrababu Naidu chaired the party politburo meeting at Aalapadu camp of Kaikaluru mandal. Emerging out of the politburo meeting, the party senior leader, Ramakrishnudu said that the politburo had discussed the holding of Standing Committees' meetings in the Assembly without consulting the Opposition parties. Referring to the popular demand for no confidence motion, he said that the TD would take a decision at an appropriate time. He said that the politburo had also discussed the no confidence motion issue but had deferred the decision at this stage. The politburo had also resolved to conduct signature campaign all through during the month of March against the power crisis in the State.
