Vijayawada: Telugu Desam leaders celebrated the 64th birthday of the party president and former Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, here at the party office on Saturday.
The party urban unit president, K Nagul Meera, led the celebrations which included blood donation and distribution of fruits and cake. The TD activists organised blood donation camp with 64 persons donating blood to mark the occasion. They have also donated a 64 kilo cake to the inmates of the SKCV Children's Trust and Navajeevan Balabhavan.
As the party chief decided not to cut the cake in protest against the brutal killing of a five-year old girl in New Delhi the other day, the party workers donated the cake to the runaway children of the Navajeevan Balabhavan. The party leaders, speaking on the occasion, expressed confidence that the party would return to power in the State in the next elections.
They said people across the State were waiting for Chandrababu Naidu to come back to power as they were vexed with the anti-people policies of the Congress government.
The party senior leaders, Dr Thumati Premanath, KVP Basaveswara Rao, Y Gowranga Babu, Boppana Raghavendra Rao, K Hanumantha Rao, K Sridhar, Songa Ravindra Varma, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Musti Srinivas, Y Vedavyas, G Dhanasekhar and others participated in the celebrations.
