Chetan badminton academy launched in Bezawada

Vijayawada : National badminton champion Chetan Anand inaugurated badminton academy (Chetan Anand Badminton Foundation) at Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Municipal Corporation Indoor Stadium (DRMC) here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chetan Anand said that players from the city could be trained properly through the academy to achieve medals at national and international levels. The coaching would be extended in special schedules to avoid interruption to the current practice session, he said.

He informed that the coaching facilities would be improved with the cooperation from various badminton academies across the country and abroad. The academy would tie up with Pullela Gopichand Academy (Hyderabad) and Prakash Padukone Academy (Bangalore), he said.

He said that Dronacharya Awardee Mohammed Arif would extend his cooperation for the academy. The local talent would get international exposure during the coaching, he hoped. A International coach Sudhakar Reddy has been appointed as coach under the guidance of Chetan Anand.
