Vijayawada: Telugu Desam vice-president and the party spokesman Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, here on Thursday, blamed UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for creating political crisis in the State. Speaking to the media at the party office here, Muddukrishnama Naidu alleged that the Congress had suspended the TD MPs from Parliament and secured clearance for the Food Security Bill and introducing the Land Acquisition Bill. He criticised Sonia Gandhi for ignoring the Land Acquisition Bill when late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy acquired 2.50 lakh acres of land across the State in the name of Special Economic Zones. He alleged that Dr Rajasekhar Reddy and his family had made huge amount of money while acquiring lands in the name of SEZs.
He said that the Land Acquisition Bill and the Food Security Bill, besides division of Andhra Pradesh were all unilateral decisions taken by Sonia Gandhi to make her son Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister. Stating that Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had sowed the seeds of division in the State nine years ago, he wanted to know why the Congress leadership took the decision to divide the State. He alleged that the decision to divide the State was taken only to clear hurdles for Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister.
He also raised doubts over YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi getting appointment from President Pranab Mukharji and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. He alleged that the same President and the Prime Minister have refused to give appointment to the TD MPs. He accused YS Jaganmohan Reddy of monitoring party affairs from his jail room.
He recalled how Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had encouraged Telangana leaders for separate State and Vijayalakshmi and Sharmila have promised separate State for the people during their tour in Telangana and wanted to know why they were now undertaking yatras and hunger strikes against the division. He said that the Congress had taken the decision to divide the State only to get the TRS and the YSR Congress merge with the party and gain in 2014 elections.
Muddukrishnama Naidu alleged that the Congress party was following the divide and rule policy of the British. He said that the TD would fight for Hyderabad and also prevent the Congress game plan to divide the State. The TD Krishna district unit president and Mylavaram legislator, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, said that the TD chief, N Chandrababu Naidu, would start his bus yatra from Guntur district on September 1. The party leaders and people from Krishna district would extend support to the yatra and rally round the party chief. He further said that the party district unit would meet in the city on August 31 to plan the bus yatra of the party chief in the district. The party senior leader, Kala Venkata Rao would attend the meeting as observer, he said and asked the party leaders to make the meeting a success.
