Gudivada: Gudivada observed total bandh following a call given by the Samaikyandhra Joint Action Committee of the town in protest against the attitude of the ministers and MPs from the region in not quitting their posts and joining the strike. Shops, business establishements downed their shutters in support of the bandh voluntarily. Banks were closed. JAC leaders approached the employees of several Central government establishments to come out of offices and they obliged. NGOs association secretary Rajendra Prasad, speaking on the occasion called upon people to attend the Hyderabad meeting in large numbers and make it a success.

Meanwhile the indefinite hunger strike being carried out by town YSRCP convener Maridu Krishna Murhty in support of Samaikyandhra entered 4th day on Friday. Former Minister Kathari Eshwar Kumar said that all political parties, except YSRCP were playing games with people on Samaikyandhra.

Retired armymen took out a huge rally in the town in support of Samaikyandhra. Later they cleansed the statue of Potti Sriramulu at the local Vasavi Chowk with milk. Various associations and groups have organised protests in the town on Friday. The relay hunger strike being taken up under the aegis of the local JAC entered 25th day.
