In a bizarre incident, a heavily indebted person has sold his two sons for Rs 3.50 lakh and tried to sell even his wife. The woman, who came to know about her husband’s devious plans, saved herself by running away to her maternal home. To add to her problems, the cops refused to register a case. The hapless woman finally approached the ICDS officials for help.

The incident occurred in Koilkuntla village near Nandyal. Budaga Jangama Maddileti has fallen on bad ways and took to heavy drinking. He also got addicted to other vices. As a result, he borrowed heavily. Unable to repay the loans, he sold his two minor daughters for Rs 3.50 lakh. He had also written an agreement with the buyers.
Later, he tried to sell his wife Venkateswaramma too. However, the woman came to know about his plans and ran away with the remaining two children. She also lodged a complaint with the Nandyal police, but the police did not act on the complaint. Due to this, she approached the ICDS. She requested that the police take possession of the agreement and arrest her husband.
