A group of people in Hyderabad stabbed a man 16 times for adopting a Muslim girl child.
A group of people in Hyderabad stabbed a man 16 times for adopting a Muslim girl child.
The man, identified as Papalal Ravikanth, has, miraculously, survived and is recovering at the Osmania Hospital.
The incident took place on June 1. According to the details, Papalal along with his wife Jayshree adopted Sania Fatima against the will of the community. The girl lost her parents in the 2007 Hyderabad blasts and was found at the blast site near Gokul chat centre in Hyderabad in August the same year.
The couple brought the girl home. However, both the communities objected to a Muslim child being raised by a Hindu couple.
Now, after the attack, the couple stated that they don’t intend to leave the child in any circumstances. They asserted that the girl is being raised as a Muslim and not being forced to follow their Hindu religion.
