Nellore, March 9: Nellore police arrested Rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy of YSR Congress party allegedly staging protest in front of the police station and also heated discus-sions with the Circle Inspector of Vedayapalem station P Narasimha Rao on Friday evening for demanding him to produce three persons before the Court who were collecting data of voters in Netaji Nagar area. At some point of time, the legislator lost his control and verbal attack on the police officer for which police booked case against him.

On Saturday morning, huge police forces rushed to his party office and took him to custody and shifted him to the police station. His family members and party cadre staged protest at KVR Petrol Pump obstructing movement of traffic. MLA Sridhar Reddy, interacting with the media at the party office, said they had only asked to arrest the people who were trying to collect data for deleting votes in the guise of survey. Police booked cases only on YSR Con-gress people leaving the responsible. He said they don’t fear of arrests and people have been observing in the city what is going on. He blamed that police personnel are acting as agents of the ruling party.
