One of the most fascinating aspects of contemporary fashion is the freedom of expressing yourself the way you like it without any rigid set of style mantras. My designs fuse the traditional with global sensibility. It reflects a hippie chic look with solid colours and prints. So, what I design can be worn by anyone and everyone, be it in Hyderabad or Mumbai or New York.
There are trends which amaze and then there are trends which amuse. And, fashion is always full of fleeting trends and new fads. Hence, no industry is more fickle than fashion. Home to many young and promising designers, Hyderabad is fast making its mark on the map of fashion.
Be it the sarees or minis, the experimental and creative innovation of these Hyderabadi designers is luring the modern fashionista. Here’s what some designers have to say about their art reflecting the flavour of Hyderabad while keeping in mind the filmi capital of the city, Mumbai, where fashion walks in every street.

My designs fuse the traditional with global sensibility. It reflects a hippie chic look with solid colours and prints. So, what I design can be worn by anyone and everyone, be it in Hyderabad or Mumbai or New York. As days are passing by, people here are getting more aware about their sense of style. For me, fashion is fun, it's about how you carry yourself. So never follow the trends what others are. In short, never be a fashion victim, be critical of what you can carry.

Mumbai as a city has more visibility at a national platform. It’s probably because of the film industry in particular. It is a misconception that Hyderabad is conservative, let’s not generalise. Be it a wedding, night club or a holiday, a traditional saree or a western gown the women here carry both with elan. The men however have a little bit of catching up to match their counterparts. Nonetheless they are willing to experiment.

Hyderabad has some really interesting clients. It's a saturated market here and I feel everyone is looking to break free and enjoy fashion. My favourite part of designing is conceptualising the collection and this city has inspired me a lot.
