Wellington: What if all you had to do during your periods was slip on underwear, without any tampons or pads? Good news as a US based start-up is trying to make that possible.
Entrepreneurs Antonia Dunbar, Miki Agrawal and Radha Agrawal are the brains behind THINX, a company that has come up with machine-washable women's underwear, which eliminates the need to use tampons or sanitary pads, and is completely leak-proof when used right.
The bosses said that they understood the uncomfortable awkward situations women had to face, giving in the need to change in between, and hence wanted to revolutionise the feminine hygiene industry with their undies, Stuff.co.nz has reported.
The absorbent underwear is machine-washable and stain-resistant and can hold as much liquid as a standard pad.
It also boasts anti-bacterial properties, and comes in sexy G-string, hipster and cheeky styles.
The company will also donate a reusable menstrual pad to women in developing countries, for every pair bought, through the non-profit organisation AFRIpads.
People outside of US can buy the product too, as it ships outside the country.
