K Sashidhar presented a melodious veena recital at Sivaramakrishna Kshetram (Rama Koti) in the city on Sunday as part of Dasara Sangeethotsavam.
K Sashidhar presented a melodious veena recital at Sivaramakrishna Kshetram (Rama Koti) in the city on Sunday as part of Dasara Sangeethotsavam. The event was organised by Swarajhari cultural organisation, in association with Sri Subrahmanya Mahathi Sangeeta Samithi. Sashidhar commenced his concert with Deekshitar keerthana `Vallabha nayakasya’ in Begada ragam.
His veena recital featured Thyagaraja compositions `Jagadananda karaka’, `Adamodi galade’ in Charukesi, Deekshitar keerthanas `Suryamurthe’ in Sourashtram, `Sri Saraswathi’ in Arabhi, `Himagiri Thanaye’ in Suddha Dhanyasi, `Hiranmayeem’ in Lalitha, Annamacharya kriti `Enta matramuna’ in Ragamalika and Purandara Dasa keerthana `Bhagyada Lakshmi’ in Madhyamavathi.
Sashidhar concluded his concert with Balamuralikrishna composition Hindolam Thillana, which regaled music lovers. The veena recital was ably supported by B Suresh Babu on mridangam and M Haribabu on ghatam.
