British envoy lauds Mahila Samakhyas

Medak: British Deputy High Commissioner in Hyderabad, Richard Hyde, expressed satisfaction after examining the effective functioning of Mahila Samakhyas in the district. He interacted with the members of Mahila Samakhyas as part of workshop on the role of community-based organisations in catalyzing gender equality at DRDA office in Sangareddy on Monday. He promised that he would create awareness among British citizens about sanitation and development programmes being implemented by the Mahila Samakhyas. Speaking on the occasion, Collector A Dinakar Babu said that the rural people in the past denied education to girls due to superstitions, but they were encouraging them now.
