YSR Congress Honorary President Y S Vijayamma addressing the party workers here on Wednesday said that the ruling Congress party was hatching a plan to postpone elections to local bodies fearing defeat. "Congress would sure postpone the elections to escape the defeat," she added.
She recalled that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu postponed the elections to the local bodies in the past and suffered heavy defeat later. Pressure should be brought on the State government to conduct elections immediately, she said and added that the YSR Congress would launch a legal battle if necessary to achieve it.
YS Vijayamma said that the party would join hands with like-minded leaders to strengthen it. Lambasting the CBI, she said that it had become Congress Bureau of Investigation. The ruling Congress has been diluting the welfare schemes introduced by the late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, she added.
She alleged that the TDP colluded with the Congress to let the latter to continue in power. She expressed confidence that the YSR Congress would register considerable victory in the forthcoming elections to the local bodies. Earlier, YS Vijayawamma was according a tumultuous welcome at Nikitepalli mandal in the limits of Nakirekal assembly constituency.
